Services  |  Security Awareness Training

Staff and management often lack awareness of the need for basic security in the workplace.

Overview

Security Awareness ensures that:
  • Every employee is prepared to protect their work area, fellow employees and other people legitimately in the workplace.
  • Employees are willing to question and/or report unidentified/unescorted persons or other suspicious activities or situations.
  • Employees understand that their duty is to report threatening or other malicious acts or words.
  • Employees understand that it is wrong to steal or act unethically or maliciously.
  • All personnel present understand their responsibilities during any emergency or crisis.
Situation

In many cases personnel's security awareness is much lower than required and less than senior personnel believe to be the situation.

A good security awareness programme builds upon and complements existing strengths and processes including safety and environmental awareness and training, policies and procedures, hotlines, all employee communications, new employee and contractor training, identification and access control systems, emergency training and drills.

It is a positive process that builds upon the employees' ethics and sense of fair play.

Security awareness training may include personal and family safety and security advice to extend personal protection with outside of the business environment.
